On that day at around Midnight or so. I'll see and have to find out if my sisters are willing to go shopping for me. Usually every year I get a large majority of my xmas shopping done on Black Friday.

Writer's Block: Sick day

When you get sick, do you prefer to go it alone or be doted upon by a friend, partner, or parent? Do you usually go to work or school or stay home?

View 1260 Answers

Hmm you know I'd have to say it would depend on how sick or serious my condition is. If it's something serious then of course I'd try to take care of myself if I can and if I can't I'd try to limit the amount of ppl that would visit me in a given amount of time and or days.

But unless it say just a cold and a friend happened to give it to me or sumtin I'd blame them but then probably laugh later and pay them back somehow, but other then that if a friend wanted to come see me even though I'm sick I'd say its their fault if they catch it and not mine for warning them ahead of time.

Hmm if I had to splurge on something this year. . .it would probably have to be a laptop that I still have yet to get. Even though I'm in my 3rd semester at a city college.

Responsibilities

Ugh I hate the fact that at times I have a job that tends to provide for my family. Sure I don't mind helping out those in need like the elderly couple I take care of, but the money I earn only seems to go to bills and school supplies.

I barely have any for myself let alone for birthday presents for say my sisters that is coming up in what 5 days and then two months from that my middle sisters birthday.*sigh* So I have been trying to go in a little earlier in hopes to get about $5-$20 more on my paycheck that I can put in my savings account for a rainy day.

I have gone to school and starting Monday will be my 3rd week. The first week was hectic and then the 2nd was more laid back. I have been trying to find a 2nd job in hopes of having more money in my savings besides $122.64 that has been like that for what the last 5 months I noticed.

At first I was only paying off my credit card bill, cellphone bill, and any school fees. Well I take off my credit card bill but that gets replaced with the DISH Network bill and gas money it seems. So what considering that gas it nearly $3 lately it costs almost $35 to fill up our 33 gallon tank.

Will I ever have enough money to get my car and laptop for school? Who knows, we will just have to wait around Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas in hopes that I get some kind of seasonal job that could help even if its work only for a few days or weeks.

Happy birthday, J.K. Rowling! Which of her seven Harry Potter novels do you think is the most satisfying read?

Hmm now that's hard. I think I'll have to say either the Half-Blood Prince or Sleepy Hollow.

Current Life

Did it every occur to someone that they wished there life was harder and then at turning points in your life easier?

Well I've been through a lot of those ups and downs. Life lately hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be. I mean for my sisters have to worry about going to her 2nd year in High School and for my other her first year following me into College.

Then there's me trying to find a 2nd job to support the family with my parents now getting about $1,000 for child support now that me and my middle sister are over 18years of age. Sooo he only gets below $500 or so. Which as soon as he gets is gone with paying the electric, smud, and telephone bills. Then all rest he has left goes to our $750 rent bill which we shouldn't be paying.

Okay if you live in a rented house you shouldn't have to pay for anything to the house unless your refurbishing it right? Well we have a small hole in a part of our house and the pipes connected to all the plumbing is cracking thus clogging up the sewer line and having it leak in our backyard. (Luckily we live in the country so its dirt but still, not the point.)

Anyways the original rent was $350-$400 or something like that. So since were not fixing the whole roof or all of the pipes but the one main one were getting charged. Ahhhhh I hate our landlord right now.

Hmmm that would probably have to be having so that my family doesn't have to live as poorly as we have to now. Which is probably some other people's wishes right now in this economy too.

Do you know any party tricks that can impress a crowd? Or even just a little kid?

Hmm the only trick which isn't really a trick is being able to sound like Chewbacca from Star Wars and it gets my little 5 and 6yr old cousins and their friends when I go entertain them.

If you could only eat one kind of cuisine—Mexican, Thai, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, etc.—for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Hmm now that would be a tough one, it would either have to be Japanese or Thai cooking. I may be japanese but I love eating Thai when I get the chance.

It's not as great as I thoughy my summer would be this year. The rent on our family house went up $350 so now its $700. So now I'm trying to find a second job to help pay for bills and the rent. I save very minimum toward my savings for college book fare. But since my sister is going to come with me this Fall in the August, I have been putting in more gradually to help us both.

All it takes is a blackout to realize how much we rely on electricity. What's your most memorable story from a power outage?

View 501 Answers

Hmmm that would have to be when me and my sisters were getting ready for dinner and the power went out. The accident of a car running into a telephone pole during a storm had the power out for several hours.

So my dad wrapped some potatoes in foil and steaks too and let our fireplace cook our dinner. It felt more like we were camping outside then being at home without electricity. Then for dessert we also had smores. ^__^

College

Is it just me or has everyone heard of a speech or lecture similar where when you go to college you'll be one of those teenagers who go get the classes they need and then somewhere along the line your like. "Okay I'm not going to be a drop out like my friend so and so". And then next thing you know your not a drop out but you do drop classes?

Well in my case I said just that and then I drop some of my GE classes that I need to pass but when I think about it the classes were free since my family income is low enough I don't have to pay the $20 per unit thing. That and since I'm shooting for a 4yr college considering the Economy and the outrageous tuition to go toone, I may as well just take my sweet time in completing my 2yrs usually it would take a student to complete their requirements at a community college.

But you know what the only thing that bites to all this is that I have to have a minimun of 12 credits to get any kind of medical insurance, instead of taking maybe half that so I don't overload myself, hence why I drop some core classes near the middle where you can have a W(Withdraw) of INC(Incomplete.

Accidents happen all the time, and often we walk away miraculously uninjured. What has been your closest call with avoiding serious harm in an accident?

View 503 Answers

Well in 2005 I survived being in a trapped house that was on fire. If we hadn't gone out of the house when the powers went out and the weather was fine we would of been trapped. For the only doors that were safe were the back ones but that would of got us corned and the front where wood was slowly falling and blocking the way.
